The two Books of Chronicles begin at the beginning of the history of humanity, then the story is carried forward, almost entirely by genealogical lists, down to the founding of the Israelite monarchy. 2 Chronicles deals with David’s son Solomon. Traditionally, authorship of both Chronicles has been attributed to Ezra but may be considered anonymous.
