New figures from YouVersion’s 2026 engagement report place the United Kingdom seventh worldwide for daily Bible App use, reflecting a notable rise in digital Scripture reading and listening among UK users. The ranking comes as YouVersion reports another record-breaking year for global Bible interaction across its family of apps.
In a press release outlining what people are searching for in the Bible this year, YouVersion said daily engagement grew by more than 13% compared to 2025, reaching 18.5 million people opening the app each day. The same announcement noted that the UK is among a group of countries showing strong growth in daily use, with especially high engagement also recorded in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
The current data build on a milestone YouVersion celebrated late last year, when the Bible App surpassed one billion installs across its platforms. In that announcement, the ministry reported more than 17.7 million installs in the UK alone, underscoring the country’s role in the app’s global user base. The ministry now offers 3,800 Bible versions in 2,400 languages through its apps, aiming to give users Scripture in their heart language.
Under the theme “Anxiety, Hope and Healing,” YouVersion’s latest report identifies those three topics as some of the most common themes people search for when using the Bible App’s search function. The ministry pointed to rising interest in passages that address fear, emotional distress and reassurance, noting that users increasingly turn to Scripture for comfort during seasons of uncertainty.
To support that engagement, YouVersion is developing a network of regional hubs, including one in the United Kingdom, designed to collaborate with local churches and ministries on digital discipleship and Scripture engagement initiatives. The ministry said these hubs in the UK, Brazil, Kenya, Mexico and other locations will help contextualise Bible App resources and equip leaders to respond to pastoral needs such as anxiety and hope with Scripture-based tools.
Looking ahead, YouVersion is tying its engagement efforts to campaigns such as Global Bible Month and a 30-Day Bible Challenge, which drew millions of participants worldwide last year and is expected to involve even more users as daily Bible engagement continues to rise. With UK users now among the top ten countries for daily Bible App use, local churches and ministries will have access to growing data and tools from YouVersion as they explore how digital platforms can complement in-person ministry and pastoral care.
