New series will feature three episodes at launch, followed by a new episode every week

Today, Prime Video announced the premiere date for its new biblical drama series, House of David, alongside eight exclusive first-look images. House of David, created by visionary filmmakers Jon Erwin (Jesus Revolution, American Underdog) and Jon Gunn (Ordinary Angels), will launch on February 27, 2025. It will feature three episodes at launch, followed by a new episode every week, available in over 240 countries and territories worldwide

The series stars Michael Iskander as David, who was chosen after a four-month global search and recently completed his role in the Tony Award-winning musical Kimberly Akimbo. House of David also features Ali Suliman (Jack Ryan, Arthur the King) as King Saul, Ayelet Zurer (Angels and Demons, Man of Steel) as Queen Ahinoam, Saul’s loyal wife, Stephen Lang (Avatar: The Way of Water, Don’t Breathe) as Samuel, and Martyn Ford (Mortal Kombat 2, The Sandman) as Goliath.

House of David tells the story of the ascent of the biblical figure David, who ultimately becomes Israel’s most celebrated king. The series depicts the downfall of the once-mighty King Saul, who falls prey to his own arrogance. Following God’s command, the prophet Samuel anoints an unlikely teenage outcast as the new king. As Saul’s hold on the kingdom weakens, David embarks on a journey of self-discovery to fulfill his destiny, confronting love, loss, and violence in the court of the man he is destined to succeed. With one leader’s decline, another must take their place.

Additional cast features Indy Lewis (Industry, King and Conqueror) as Mychal and Yali Topol Margalith (Tattooist of Auschwitz, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder (2024)) as Mirab, the daughters of Saul; Ethan Kai as Jonathan (The Turkish Detective, Carnival Row 2), Saul’s son and heir apparent; Sam Otto (Snowpiercer, The State) as Eshbaal, the irreverent middle child; Oded Fehr (Star Trek, La Cocina) as Abner, Saul’s advisor; Louis Ferreira (Shogun, Breaking Bad) as Jesse, David’s father; Davood Ghadami (Eastenders, The Chelsea Detective) as Eliab, David’s eldest brother and a decorated warrior in King Saul’s army; Ashraf Barhom (Tyrant, The Last Planet) as Doeg, a mysterious Edomite; and Alexander Uloom (Heera, Qusa (The Story)) as King Achish
