The apocryphon of Baruch, which is extant in Greek and was included in the Septuagint, is attributed to Baruch, secretary to the Old Testament prophet Jeremiah (7th–6th century bce). It was Baruch who read Jeremiah’s letter to the exiles in Babylon.
